A Spell for 2008 (08 08 08)

 For this spell you will need a pen and paper, and either fourteen two pence pieces or circular pieces of card  about the same size. 

 Draw a face which you name as the person for whom the spell is intended. 

This is one spell which has the effect of things getting worse before they get better;  so expect that result first.

 Cover the eyes of the drawing with  two pence pieces or circle of card every night for one week,  at the same time; saying 

' In the darkness may you see,

the person who you've come to be.

 Hidden by worth which is not your due

Hid from yourself, you are not you.

Building up this cage will be

Like hiding from reality.'

After seven days remove the coins  one from each eye day by day for another week.

Saying

'Worthless gain I take away,

To return you to yourself this day.

swift the change in you will be

As you climb  back to reality '

When the coins are all removed surround the picture with eight small tea lights.

8 is the number of returning and infinity

for this spell you will need

                                  2 pink candles,

a piece of rose quartz

a length of string or ribbon.

take the candles and inscribe the names of both people from the bottom up ,with a pin 

one name on each candle.

 With a drop of hot wax, stick the string on the bottom of the candles, one at  each end of

the string, place the rose quartz on the centre of the ribbon. Light the candles,

say:

"This day (other persons name) and I are apart

though we are together in my heart.

as I move the flame, to find its mate

inch by inch, without deviate,

as wax and stone and flame combine

May we be brought together and together entwined."

let the candles burn for 10 minutes, visualising the two of you together, before you snuff them out, and move both candles toward the rose quartz 1 inch, repeat this every night at the same  time, until the  two candles are touching the quartz,then let  them burn out, thinking of the two of you together as they burn, to complete the spell.

  A Worth Spell.

 Even the most giving soul still needs money in this world, and self worth.

            This spell combines the two

in a way which also brings wealth and self worth to others.

 You will need* 3       * yellow or gold candles

(*for creation)                   (* for wealth and self worth)

some copper coins, the shinier the better, *3 citrines.

*the happiness and self worth crystal

Light the candles as you say:

'I light these candles to create,

The will to grant a wealthy state,

and happiness, with enough to share,

 from within the dish thats lying there.

 To ask for myself, and not be greedy,

I ask for myself and  for all the needy.'

Gently drop the coins ino the dish, alternately with the citrines

 say

'I lay these coins witin the dish, though they be low, and few.

May they be mirrored , day by day, and trebled through and through.'

Let the candles burn right down

Put the dish on a window sill in natural light and add any other copper coins that you get to the dish, without ceremony.

If the dish fills up and overflows,  scoop up the money and give it to a good cause.

Apart from that do not take money out of the bowl.

Any windfalls should also have some of its sum added to the bowl, to go to needy causes or people.

( Not yourself or those who benefit yourself.)

      A Wiccan altar allows space for the elements, Air, Earth, Water,Fire and Spirit .....

It also houses a chalice, an athame, a wand, a pentagram, and items of celebration for the ritual of the time.

For this spell you will need.

 A peice  of paper and a pen, 

1 Pink candle.

One citrine stone or three shiny copper coins

 Say ...

 write everything that hurts you down on a list, with how it made you feel.

 If you know how to open a circle, open one, if not just ask the energies of the universe to listen to the words you speak.

Light one pink (for loving energies) candle

Say

'Sadness lives inside of me,  

only because I let it be,

With pen and paper,

nerve and flame,

I'll send it all away again.'

 Light the list with the candle, watch your fingers, make sure the paper has all burned away and is gone out.

snuff out the candle.

Place the citrine or the three copper coins in the sunlight on a window sill,

where you can leave them to shine every day

 As always never leave unnattended candles lit.

Always keep  lighted candles away from children,curtains and clothing etc.

The New Year Date of 2008 promises the best of everything that you deserve returning to you. The other good date fop getting everything back that you deserve is the 8th August 08

(obviously at 8am is optimum)

To make the best of this the spell for midnight for the new year the spell below will open doorways

 for new, good things to come  your way, as well as what you deserve coming back at you.

You will need:-

 An eggshell, empty and carefully divided across its top.

An acorn,or other large seed prefferably from  a bush or tree.

 a spot of soil , or a pot of soil, if you have no garden.

Three green candles,

Three green ribbons.

Dig the soil out ready for the egg to be implanted before the spell begins.

 Then: position the three ribbons beneath the base of each candle,sticking them down with liquid wax from another candle, so that the ribbons form a triangle around the pot or hole in the soil

Light the candles

say:

"This light begins a trilogy

of life to bear a gaurdian tree,

To bring within the future here

A guardian for the coming year

 May all that comes to me be good, 

And  return to me as and when it should".

Place some soil within the eggshell, place the seed in the soil, place the shell in the hole, and cover with the eggshell

then cover with soil, and then water.

Let the candles burn down whilst thinking of the things which you wish to achieve throughout the coming year

Allow the seed to grow gently throughout the year,

Do not worry if it takes a while to show itself

One empty egg shell, in two pieces so that it can be joined together.

three pieces of moonstone, ( available from crystal shops)

some earth or compost, three large seeds ( sunflower, melon or pea would be good)

incense.

water.

Athame or small knife.

place the bottom half of the shell in a hole in the ground where it will be suitable for a seed to grow.

Around the open cup of the shell place the three moonstones, saying

Between these stones I set my womb

in the fertile earth.

may this spell fulfill it soon,

and promise me a birth.

Boy or Girl, I favour none

Happy a Daughter; Happy a Son.

Fill my heart with love  and bless

My love, and I with happiness.

Light the three incense sticks, saying....

"Fire and Air protect my Heir"

Fill the half cup with soil  then sprinkle with water saying

"Earth and Water, protect my Daughter"

Place each of the three seeds inside saying  for the first seed

"Grow up strong small seed of mine

May you grow up tall and fine."

Say for the second seed......

" You should grow up sweet and true

May life always be good to you."

Say for third seed................

"A blessing rare if you should grow

a child that everyone must know"

cover the seeds with a little more earth, and then sprinkle with water

promising.......

"If you grow as a child of mine, I promise heart and soul,

that I will always honour you, within a mothers (or fathers ) role"

Picture yourself with your child in your arms while  you

take the Athame, and thrust it into the soil, saying

"Fulfil the seed, and bless this womb,with my sacred  child."

Place the eggshell on top of its other half, and cover it lightly with soil,saying as you do so....

" I leave you now to make you way, protected by the Wild."

Leave the three incense sticks to burn down on their own, but make sure they are away from anything flammable, and are protected  from children and pets.................

* This spell also requires the couple to try for a baby in the usual way; its position is to promote the fertilization, not replace it................

 The Eye of God?

Will our Sun look like this one day? The Helix Nebula is the closest example of a planetary nebula created at the end of the life of a Sun-like star. The outer gasses of the star expelled into space appear from our vantage point as if we are looking down a helix.

The remnant central stellar core, destined to become a white dwarf star, glows in light so energetic it causes the previously expelled gas to fluoresce.

The Helix Nebula, given a technical designation of NGC 7293, lies about 650 light-years away towards the constellation of Aquarius and spans about 2.5 light-years. The above picture is a composite of newly released images from the ACS instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope and wide-angle images from the Mosaic Camera on the 0.9-m Telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. A close-up of the inner edge of the Helix Nebula shows complex gas knots of unknown origin.
