The Gateway of fate is an upturned 'U' which faces the reader .
The client is asked to shuffle the cards while thinking just about themselves. she hands back the cards when they feel 'ready' to her, any which fall while she is shuffling are taken into 
consideration with the reading, but are not laid in the reading.
the cards are laid in three spaces, the Past, and below it how you feel about the past,
The present and how you feel about the present
The future and how you will feel about our future
this spread will usually start Sues readings and allows her to make sure that she has 'got and understood the client , so that the reading can progress more swiftly.
